What does the app do?
WalkGuide is a self-guided audio walking tour app for iOS and Android. Each tour is a route through a city with a series of stops, and a recorded narration plays as you reach each one. You can also start a stop yourself at any time.
What works without a connection?
A tour you have downloaded works with your phone in airplane mode: its route, its stops, its narration and its transcripts are all on your phone. Browsing tours you have not downloaded, downloading one, and sending a report need a connection.
How do I report a problem with a stop?
In the app. Every stop has a “Report an issue” button, on the walk screen and in the tour’s list of stops. A report is sent straight away and needs a connection. This website has no sign-in, so a report is made from the app.
How do I get a copy of my data, or delete it?
In the app, from the profile tab under “Your data”. This website has no sign-in and cannot identify you, so the request is made from the app. Your export is one file holding everything this app keeps about you: your account and every record on our server that names it, and what this device holds — favourites, your consent choice, preferences, walk progress and downloaded tours.
